Creole Osecola Second Chief Robert P. “Earl” Mitchell, Sr. has become an ancestor

Robert P. Mitchell, Sr. affectionately known as “Earl” and “Uncle Earl” entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the age of 81. He was a local Carpenter for more than 50 years and 2nd chief with the Creole Osceolas Mardi [Gras] Indians. He was Son of the late Hardy and Norma Celestine Mitchell. Father of Kimmarie Mitchell (Marlon, Sr.) Allen, Robert P. “Bobby” Mitchell, Jr., David H. (Wycilla) Mitchell, Troy A. (Charity) Mitchell and the late Eric George Mitchell, Sr. Former husband of 31 years to Rose Ann Delay Mitchell. Brother of Alton Mitchell and the late Lillian Mitchell Lawhorn. Grandfather of Deitric, Marlon Jr., Lance, Eric Jr., Erica, David Jr., Darren, Angelique, Kandace, Davon, Austin, Gabrielle, Jacob & Conner. Son-in-Law of the late Dorothy Nagin Delay. Brother-in-law of Carol Delay, Barbara Sanders, Tammy Griffith, Kay Mitchell and the late Sylvia D. Williams, Herbert and Mary D. Chapman and James Lawhorn. Cousin of Avon Mouton Howse, Debra Mouton and Hodges Cashmire. Great grandfather of the late Darenica Major. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and Friends of the family are all invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00am at Majestic Mortuary 1833 Oretha C.
